Logically you go to the beach to enjoy surfing. The sea waves that naturally storm the beach make it one of the most popular water sports in the world. But if you go to Saudi Arabia, you can do it in the middle of the desert.
Aquarabia is a water theme park with the largest man-made wave pool in the Middle East. These pools will produce man-made waves similar to real waves but still allow surfers of various experience levels to surf safely.
It was built in Qiddiya which is located near the capital Riyadh. In addition to the wave park, it will also house 22 other attractions such as waterfalls and pools for children. Construction has already started with it expected to be completed in 2025.
Qiddiya is another mega construction project in Saudi Arabia besides Neom. It will be the sports hub of Saudi Arabia, the world's longest roller coaster and Dragon Ball theme park. In short, if Neom becomes the construction site of a monument that breaks world architectural records, Qiddiya will become a world theme park city.
