Transport Minister, Anthony Loke has now stated that the government has never allowed any ride-hailing service with a system that offers price bids for drivers and users.
There are no service names specified at this time. It is said that there are several ride-hailing services that are becoming more popular in the market, where the driver can specify the price for the trip, before the user chooses or "bids" the price. This is said to lead to a "bias" more towards drivers, rather than equality between drivers and users.
The Minister stated that APAD (Land Public Transport Agency) has been instructed to investigate the system used between some drivers of the unmanned service in the market.
