NVIDIA Holds Over 90% Of The GPU Market For Data Centers

Last quarter, NVIDIA posted a 262% increase in revenue compared to the same quarter last year. In data centers alone, $22.6 billion in revenue was recorded helped by a boom in high demand for artificial intelligence (AI). According to a Nikkei Asia report, NVIDIA currently holds over 90% of the GPU market for databases.

NVIDIA's database business posted a 427% increase last quarter compared to the same quarter in 2023. Their closest competitor is AMD which only holds 3% of the GPU market for data centers while Intel is third.

NVIDIA is expected to widen their gap with the competition this year as they just announced the Blackwell B200 chip last March. In fact NVIDIA has confirmed they will now offer new AI chips every year to meet future AI computing needs.
