Sorry if this morning was filled with artificial intelligence (AI) news pouring in. The fact is that we are now in the era of AI and all new products will have this feature built in. Coinciding with the announcement of the new Copilot+ PC category, several applications now support AI task processing directly on the device via the built-in NPU on the Snapdragon X processor chip.
Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Express can now perform actions such as Generative Expand and change backgrounds faster because they are processed on the machine. Users of these two features are sure that Adobe needs up to a minute to perform Generative Expand depending on the size of the image. In just a few months illustrator and Premiere Pro will also support Copilot+ PC.
CapCut on the other hand can bloom the background continuously with the Auto Cutout feature as fast as lightning without having to wait a long time. Meanwhile DaVinci Resolve Studio can process Magic Mask special effects faster with the help of NPU.
For Cephable users, the PC can be controlled using facial expressions and head movements. The task of processing the video seen by the camera will be done by the NPU at the same time reducing the load on the CPU and GPU.
Finally, the Live Caption feature that produces language subtitles in real time in applications such as Teams is also processed directly by the NPU. A total of 40 languages are currently supported by Live Caption.
