During these two weeks, the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) 2024 will take place at the World Trade Center (WTC), Kuala Lumpur. The warmth of this annual event continues with a new announcement about the government giving RM100 book vouchers. The grant involved several groups of students including primary school starting from 4th grade up to secondary school and institute of higher learning.
This initiative was carried out by the government to reduce the pressure on the government's finances, as well as to promote a culture of reading among the Malaysian community. The voucher can be used from Friday, 31 May 2024 with further mechanisms to be announced on the same day. This includes guides involving book categories, redemption types and others. This grant is certainly also able to boost the physical book industry as a whole.
