Sonos announced the new Roam 2 portable speaker that offers easier bluetooth connectivity. Roam 2 now allows users to connect to smartphones or other devices via bluetooth directly. In addition to having a dedicated connection button on the back that makes the process even easier. The concept seems to be different from the previous generation when users had to use it networked via WiFi and bluetooth.
The Roam 2 still maintains the same compact design as the previous model except that the logo on the front now has the same color as the speaker. Indirectly makes Roam 2 look more minimalistic and neat. It also combines the woofer and tweeter in one piece to produce good sound quality.
Through the TruePlay system, the sound emitted by Roam 2 will change according to the position it is placed in and the surrounding area is the same. Plus there's also AirPlay2 support for Apple users and the ability to share audio across the entire Sonos ecosystem.
Other features on the Roam 2 are also IP67 waterproof and dustproof. In addition, it offers a battery life of up to 10 hours with continuous use. The charging process can be done wired or wireless. Roam 2 is sold at a price of $179 (~RM840) with five color options such as green, orange, blue, black and white.
