Spotify Starts Limiting Lyrics Access To Free Users

Spotify seems to have once again found a way to entice their free users to start subscribing to premium plans. Most recently, Spotify appears to have started limiting access to lyrics when listening to music for free users. Lyrics are now seen as a premium subscription feature.

For now, Spotify still doesn't list which lyrics are part of the premium feature on their subscription page. This is possible because free users can still access a limited amount of lyrics each month. After this limit is reached, Spotify will instruct the user to start subscribing.

This feature has been tested since September 2023. At that time Spotify said that it was just a test to see the feedback. For this lyric feature, the source said that Spotify's new features will always be tested and offered according to different countries and devices. In my tests, the lyrics on the Android device were still accessible but on the Windows app it was not. What do you think, should access to lyrics be paid or given for free?
