Thunderbolt Share Enables Data Transfer Up To 40 Gbps And Controls Other PCs

Intel announced Thunderbolt Share today which enables data transfer between PCs at speeds over 40 Gbps. The connection is made between two PCs wired through a Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 port.

In addition to fast data transfer between two computers, Thunderbolt Share also allows two PCs to be controlled simultaneously, file transfer by drag & drop, and sync files between two computers quickly. It also allows one of the PCs to operate as a secondary screen with 1080p 60FPS resolution when needed by the owner.

To enjoy this feature, a special software is required and it will be downloadable for a fee starting next June. Currently Acer, Lenovo, MSI, and Razer are the first four PC manufacturers to support it. Meanwhile, Belkin, Kensington, Plugable, and Promise Technology will offer PC accessories that support Thunderbolt Share.
