TikTok Files Lawsuit Against US Government

TikTok has now filed a lawsuit against the United States government, an extension of new legislation that forces TikTok to sell their company to firms in the United States or the app will be banned in the country.

Previously, through the new legislation, Bytedance was given a period until around January 2025 to sell the TikTok business in the United States, or the application would be banned. However, according to various early reports, Bytedance does not seem to want to sell TikTok – and at the same time, it may be blocked by China because it also includes a special algorithm.

TikTok says the US move is unconstitutional, and the first time in history a platform has been forced to sell or will prevent Americans from joining a community of more than 1 billion users worldwide. The suit filed by TikTok also emphasizes that it has been operating since 2017, and various arguments for the ban have no evidence to date that TikTok data is being misused by the Chinese government.

With the filing of this lawsuit, let's all look forward to what the reaction of the United States government will be, and how the court's decision will determine the future of TikTok in the country.
