Very rarely do I scan QR codes with a Windows device. Usually I scan the code displayed on the laptop screen using a smartphone. To make it easier for users, Microsoft is now testing the Snipping Tool that allows it to detect QR codes in every screenshot taken.
In every screenshot of the content that has a QR code, Snipping Tool can detect and directly output a URL link for the user to click on. Not only that, users can now add 3D emojis by Microsoft to brighten up the screenshots. On the shape toolbar, users can also now change the opacity and fill color.
This change is limited to Windows 11 Insider users of the Canary and Dev channels using Snipping Tool version 11.2404.37.0.
