The Block feature on X (Twitter) is the easiest way to prevent certain accounts from appearing on your timeline or account holders from reading your tweets. Since the beginning of this feature it has been the easiest way to filter objectionable content. Today X has changed how the Block feature works.
Now account owners can read comments left on their posts even if the account blocks them. With this, negative comments that may be left to offend can still be read.
According to X, this is to enable the account owner to report if the content of the comments left violates the site's policy. Action can then be taken if the comments left are extreme.
A few months ago Elon Musk said he was not fond of the Block feature and said he would remove it. The step taken today is the middle ground which still allows this feature to be used but honestly we say it has never been requested by site users.
