Through its advertising offering seen by Digiday, it is now shared X or formerly known as Twitter, has a video viewing rate of 8 billion views per day. This figure is seen in line with X's move to position their platform as prioritizing video content.
X takes this new statistic into account through a 2-second minimum view rate that occurs, and users see at least 50% of the video player display on their device screen while scrolling. X also only takes into account the viewing rate involving users who are logged into their service only for now.
This new figure will surely steal the attention of many advertisers, and may make advertisers start advertising in the form of video on the platform. Indirectly as well, X can charge more than text-only advertising.
X itself has previously started focusing on video applications for smart televisions, as well as offering a dedicated display on mobile devices where users can easily scroll to the next videos and spend more time on the platform.
In addition to advertisers, X is also quite active in collaborating with content publishers to publish video content on the platform first.
