Yoodo, the affordable mobile telecommunications company managed by Celcom before the CelcomDigi merger has announced today that the company will close on 29 August 2024.
This is because part of Celcom and Digi's previous merger agreement, Celcom had to close or sell Yoodo's business 18 months after the merger was signed. This closure announcement seems to have signaled that CelcomDigi has yet to find a buyer for the telecommunications service, and this has led Yoodo to make this announcement.
Yoodo says that existing customers can still use the service as usual, and can transfer their numbers to other telecommunications companies if they wish, and that their services will not receive any interruption until the said closing date of 29 August.
Yoodo also said that details about the transition phase of the telecommunications company, possibly to transfer users to other telecommunications companies (such as CelcomDigi) will be shared on June 17, 2024.
