You Can Be A Jedi Knight With Poco AI Air Gesture

When I started watching the Star Wars movies, the first thing that came to my mind was how to become a Jedi with the power of The Force to move objects with just the mind and reach forward. With increasingly advanced technology, the feature of controlling things with hand gestures in the air is no longer impossible. The latest is the Poco AI Air Gesture for the Poco F6 series.

There is no doubt that this feature that makes users look like Jedi knights in the real world is nothing new. We have seen its existence on LG G8 ThinQ with ToF sensor, Pixel 4 with Soli sensor or most recently on Honor Magic6 Pro. Interestingly on this Poco F6 series, AI Air Gesture uses only the selfie camera without additional sensors but is assisted by artificial intelligence technology to detect hand movements.

There are 4 main controls which are Swipe horizontally to change the music track from A to B and vice versa, Vertical swipe for TikTok or change pages from top to bottom and vice versa, Double tap movement in the air to play or pause, then the last one is to draw a circle in the air to answer or hang up phone calls.

In my tests, it requires a relatively far hand-to-phone distance of around 60cm to work smoothly even though the device suggests around 30cm to 50cm. Interesting but a bit slow and it's limited to select apps like Netflix or Mi Music. Anyway, for a device that starts from RM1799 it's a feature that everyone will definitely try to use.
