AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series Chip Launched With 50 TOPS AI Capability



AMD launched their latest AI chip sir in response to Qualcomm Snapdragon X this morning in Taiwan in conjunction with Computex 2024. The AMD Ryzen AI 300 chip has an NPU with AI processing capabilities of up to 50 TOPS making it the AI ​​chip with the most powerful NPU. The Snapdragon X Elite offers 45 TOPS while the Apple M4 offers 38 TOPS.



The first two chips announced are Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365. Both are equipped with Zen 5 CPUs, NPUs from the XDNA2 family, and RDNA 3.5 GPUs that have up to 16 CUs. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is a more powerful chip with 12 cores, 24 threads and speeds up to 5.1GHz and Radeon 890M graphics. Meanwhile Ryzen AI 9 365 is equipped with 10 cores, 12 threads and speeds up to 5.0GHz and Radeon 880M graphics.



Some of the first laptops using AMD Ryzen AI 300 series chips will be launched at Computex today and tomorrow. In fact yesterday during the NVIDIA event, several ASUS and MS laptop models with this latest AI chip were announced with it being categorized as RTX AI PC. With high NPU capabilities and NVIDIA GPUs, all RTX AI PCs can run the new features in Copilot+ PCs that Microsoft announced a few weeks ago.
