Apple at the last WWDC 2024 announcement, has introduced Apple Intelligence which brings generative artificial intelligence support to iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc. users. At the time of announcement, only ChatGPT integration was announced.
Most recently, according to a WSJ report, it is said that Apple has discussed with several other parties, including Meta. Through it, it is discussed to integrate the artificial intelligence model developed by Meta directly into the Apple Intelligence system, making it easier for iPhone and Mac users.
Meta is ready to offer their model called LlaMa as open source, and has also started to add Meta AI integration to their offerings such as WhatsApp, and also Instagram. It is not known whether the LlaMa model is discussed to be integrated, or Meta AI.
Apart from Meta, other parties who are also said to be in talks with Apple are Anthropic and Perplexity. For now, it is reported that the discussion is still in process, and there is a possibility that it will not continue.
