Apple Will Allow Spatial 3D Video Recording Through More Apps

If you own an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, you can record spatial 3D videos for viewing on Apple Vision Pro. Apple is so concerned about this video recording method that the iPhone 16 is expected to change the position of the camera, working with various companies for AOUSD to standardize 3D content, working with Blackmagic and Canon and in the process of developing a more affordable spatial computing headset.

For now, Apple's spatial 3D video recording can only be used through the iOS camera app. In the future, Apple will allow more apps to support this recording mode. Apple will integrate this spatial 3D video recording API into existing camera-related frameworks to facilitate developers.

Apple combines video recording on the ultra-wide-angle sensor and the main wide-angle sensor. Recording can only be done in landscape mode and for the 3D effect it can only be viewed in Vision Pro because in iPhone it will display normal 2D video. Later, all iPhone 16 lines are expected to support this new recording mode and will no longer be limited to Pro models only.
