Lately, it has been seen as quite impossible for Chinese technology companies to collaborate with US technology companies, especially when this collaboration is related to the development of semiconductor chips for artificial intelligence purposes.
Recently, it was reported that ByteDance, the company behind TikTok will work with Broadcom, a processing chip maker to develop an AI chip that will be built using the 5nm process.
Not many details are known about this AI processing chip, only that it will be designed by these two companies, and will be manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan. And what is interesting is that this developed chip is expected to pass any economic and technological restrictions set by the United States government.
This chip is still in the design phase, and its manufacturing is expected to start only around next year. It is not yet known what the purpose of ByteDance is seen to be in developing this AI chip, but details about it are expected to be announced later when the design phase enters the prototype phase.
