A few years ago, Microsoft also wanted to compete in the smartphone arena with a foldable screen with their Surface Duo. Its uniqueness is that it does not use a flexible OLED screen like Samsung, but instead uses a dual-screen concept with an Android operating system that is changed to look like Windows 11. After the Duo 2, Microsoft kept quiet without announcing a new model. Recently the patent for the Duo 3 was leaked.
Microsoft Surface Duo 3 is seen to focus on photography by having three sensors on the back like a camera on an iPhone Pro. Not only that, this device also uses a foldable screen like competing devices in the same category. Microsoft's patent shows an almost full frameless screen. Surface Duo 3 is also said to support a magnetic accessory system such as MagSafe. Among Microsoft's ideas is a detachable foot accessory to be used in different modes.
The Surface Duo 3 also has a power button that is also the device's screen unlock button. This is like the Huawei Mate Xs 2. Too bad this will just be a patent that will be buried because Microsoft's Android device project has been terminated since Panos Panay left the company and moved to Amazon.
