The Ministry of Communications shared the plan to use 5.5G network technology or also known as 5G-Advanced at the SUKMA championship event that will take place in August 2024.
Today, 5G networks already offer coverage speeds of up to 1Gbps, but through this 5G-Advanced, it can reach eight times the speed, up to 8Gbps. According to the Ministry of Communications, they have received several applications from telecommunication companies that want to collaborate with RTM for the purpose of this live streaming.
For now, several studies are expected to be conducted to see the support of technical aspects, before determining its comprehensive use at this upcoming SUKMA event. The use of 5G-Advanced technology in show streaming is also expected to lead to some new methods and experiments in delivery.
