Huawei is now sharing an operating system developed by themselves, which is HarmonyOS powering more than 900 million devices worldwide. As many are aware, this operating system not only powers tablets and smartphones, but also smart watches, televisions, and in-car systems.
In parallel with this partnership, Huawei also announced the introduction of HarmonyOS Next which will power the Huawei Mate 70 later. This new operating system will make a full transition and will no longer be based on Android. The beta version for this operating system will be introduced in August.
Huawei previously introduced HarmonyOS in 2019, after they were banned from trading with US companies. Since then, Huawei has started to develop its own operating system based on Android, and now goes one step further by replacing various Android-based components and switching to their system entirely.
For now, it is not yet known when Huawei will focus the introduction of this operating system completely on a global level. Let's all look forward to Huawei's move to lead the smart device arena again through their own operating system without relying on other parties.
