HTC is still not dead and this morning the social media account announced that it will launch a new smartphone on June 12th. No information about this device has been shared or ever leaked to the web arena. The uploaded firmware image only gives an indication that it is a device under the U series.
The last time this series device was launched was the HTC U23 Pro which is a mid-range smartphone. In the image above, the design of the device is similar to the U23 Pro, so it can be predicted that the U24 will be launched next week. HTC is now no longer among the five largest device manufacturers in the world.
Once upon a time they were at the top and were responsible for building the first Android phone. They introduced innovations such as full metal body phones, forward-firing stereo speakers, motion video with stills taken and 3D cameras. Due to fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers, they have withdrawn from the Malaysian market and focused on VR headset manufacturers.
