Acer today announced that their new Swift series laptops will be equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 series chip starting from the third quarter of 2024. The announcement was made shortly after the introduction of the AI chip earlier this morning in Taiwan in conjunction with Computex 2024.
With a more powerful offering through a high NPU match and NVIDIA GPU, it is believed to be able to show better performance according to the needs of the majority of users today. It was also announced that any new Acer Swift model using the chip will soon get an update to Copilot+ for free when available.
For sharing, the AMD Ryzen AI 300 chip has an NPU with the ability to process AI up to 50 TOPS making it the AI chip with the most powerful NPU to date. The two chips that were announced just now consist of Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365.
Both are equipped with Zen5 CPUs, NPUs from the XDNA2 family, and RDNA 3.5 GPUs that have up to 16 CUs. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is a more powerful chip with 12 cores, 24 threads and speeds up to 5.1GHz and Radeon 890M graphics. Meanwhile Ryzen AI 9 365 is equipped with 10 cores, 12 threads and speeds up to 5.0GHz and Radeon 880M graphics.
