Panasonic LUMIX GH7 Camera Launched With 25.2 MP M4/3 Sensor

The Panasonic LUMIX GH7 digital camera has been officially launched with a BSI CMOS 25.2 Megapixel micro 4:3 sensor. It is the same sensor as the GH6 but enhanced with faster image processing capabilities for improved quality. In addition, there is also support for the built-in 5-axis IBIS stabilization system with a maximum of 7.5 stops included.

The sensor also offers a standard exposure sensitivity range of ISO100 – 25,600 for both video and still image recording. Video capabilities are up to 5.7K 30p resolution in 422 HQ format and Apple ProRes RAW HQ. At the same time it is also capable of recording at standard FHD resolution in 10-bit 4:2:2 up to 240FPS and 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K at 60P.

The autofocus system is also supported by AI technology for the ability to detect any subject quickly and accurately. The audio recording supported is of the floating 32-bit type which Panasonic says is the first time it has been used on a camera. Through it users no longer need to adjust the audio recording level while recording when used with the new XLR microphone adapter – Lumix DMW-XLR2 (sold separately).

Then users can also apply custom LUTs to images and videos live through the Lumix Real Time LUT feature. The Panasonic LUMIX GH7 is also integrated with Frame.io to upload photos and videos directly to cloud storage without the need for additional accessories. A touch screen that can be moved is also provided as a complement.

The Panasonic Lumix GH7 will be available at the end of July for £1999.99 (~RM11,992), while the DMW-XLR2 is priced at £499.99 (~RM2,998) per unit.
