Proton shared several images of the car through their social media pages since yesterday. Based on the hashtag that was also shared, an event for their first electric vehicle (EV) will be held on June 12. It is very likely that at this event, Proton will announce a special brand for their EV later.
This announcement is certainly expected because EVs in the market now are sold at prices that are still not quite affordable. EVs produced by local companies will certainly be offered at a price below RM 100,000 apiece. Because Proton is now under the Geely umbrella, it is highly likely that one of the EV vehicles that have been released will be all branded for the local market.
What is the brand that will be used by Proton's first EV and what type of vehicle will be offered? The mystery of this question will be unraveled on June 12.
