Among the problems of television in hotels is that it does not support the feature of broadcasting the contents of the phone screen to the television screen in the room. This is because the hotel uses a shared WiFi system and the operating system of televisions from popular brands has been modified. In the future, Samsung televisions used in more than 6000 hotels will be updated with Apple AirPlay support.
The hotels that Samsung announced are 6000 hotels under IHG located in 100 different countries. Among the hotels under IHG are Hotel Indigo, Regent Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn and many more. The television update at these hotels will allow guests with iPhones or iPads to use Samsung televisions more easily. Visitors only need to scan the QR code on the Samsung Hospitality TV television and every connection is guaranteed to be secure due to the strict security system.
Hotel managers will use LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro software to manage smart devices in each hotel room. This software makes it easy for hotel managers to set custom content as well as manage other Internet of Things devices for use by visitors. The system will also delete all visitor device details after they check out.
For now, AirPlay support will only be given to Samsung HBU8000 televisions. This support will be gradually distributed to other Samsung televisions using the Tizen 7.0 operating system and above. If you're visiting a hotel that uses LG televisions, Google Cast support can be used in over 500,000 hotel rooms.
