Awareness in the maharat community about the safety of cider is still low in Malaysia. So much so that almost every day there must be a record number of cases related to cyber bullying, forgery and information intrusion, data fishing and email fraud. In fact, a worse situation can occur if it involves a large loss after being cheated.
Therefore the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) in collaboration with Meta Inc is working to refine this issue of cyber security while protecting the personal data of online users. The Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil in a statement informed that his party had been briefed further by Meta on efforts and improvements to strengthen online security for users in Malaysia. He also said the briefing included aspects of age verification for children under 13 years old as well as monitoring dangerous content such as online gambling, fraud, fake news, and related to 3R (religion, king and race).
In the meantime, Meta also agreed to join hands and work with SKMM and other stakeholders to implement a national awareness campaign on online security practices. One of them is the Online Safety Campaign for Children and Families which will be launched soon. Further information and mechanisms about the campaign have not yet been disclosed but at least there is an effort taken by the authorities to overcome related problems.
Fahmi also said that Meta's efforts in reducing harmful content and protecting the safety of online users are seen as encouraging at this time. Therefore, he hopes that this commitment can be continued for the well-being of users.
