The KLIA Aerotrain Will Be Completed To Be Replaced On 31 January 2025 – MAHB

If you are a frequent visitor to Kuala Lumpur International Airport like us, you must know that to get to the international terminal, you will need to use an intermediary bus because the Aerotrain train that connects the main terminal and the international terminal is still broken.

Recently, Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad has announced that the Aerotrain train will be ready to be replaced on 31 January 2025. This project involves MAHB, Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd, Alstom Transport Systems Sdn Bhd and IJM Construction Sdn Bhd's joint venture with Pestech Technology Sdn Bhd.

Alstom will reportedly monitor the three Aerotrain train carriages and the upgrade of the railway track as well as the testing that will need to be done for operational safety. A Bernama report says that these three trains will arrive in Malaysia by the end of the third quarter of this year.

The upgrade of this train has been delayed several times before, but with this announcement, it looks like the aerotrain for KLIA airport will finally return to ferrying people to both the main and international terminals early next year.
