The MSI M.2 Xpander AERO SLIDER GEN5 is an M.2 PCIe Gen5 SSD Storage Expansion Card

At the Computex Taipei event two weeks ago, MSI showed off a number of interesting products at their booth, including their latest prototype mobile console, the MSI Claw 8 AI+ which will be powered by an Intel Lunar Lake processing chip, and also a prototype motherboard. MSI Z790 Project Zero Plus which uses the latest CAMM2 memory format.

Another interesting product they showed was the MSI M.2 Xpander-AERO SLIDER GEN5 storage expansion card. This expansion card resembles a compact graphics card with a single cooling fan, but it comes with two slots for M.2 PCIe Gen5 SSD storage if you're building a PC that needs a large amount of fast storage.

The uniqueness of this expansion card, compared to MSI's own offerings before, is that it can be accessed and installed directly to the card by simply pushing your SSD storage into the expansion slot like you push an SD or MicroSD card into the card reader slot. It also supports a number of M.2 SSD storage sizes up to M.2 22110 size.

So far MSI has not yet confirmed when they will introduce this SSD storage, but it is expected to arrive in selected markets soon.
