This year's Apple Vision Pro received an incredible response after its launch and was sold at a price of almost RM25,000 in Malaysia for those who want to get it early. Vision Pro sales will be expanded to more markets this week. We previously reported that Apple temporarily delayed development of the Apple Vision Pro 2 to develop a more affordable Apple Vision headset.
Now according to a Bloomberg report, the affordable Apple Vision headset may be a pair of smart glasses that need to be connected to an iPhone or Mac computer to work. This makes the two devices the "brain" for it to work while allowing it to be sold at a lower price.
Apple Vision Pro 2 is still in the pipeline but will only be offered around 2026. It will be equipped with a more powerful processor, an improved camera and most importantly will be lighter than the first generation product.
Companies like Xreal already offer MR smart glasses that need to be connected to an Android smartphone or their Xreal Beam Pro spatial computing device. It might be a more reasonable move since there are millions of iPhone and Mac owners in the market. More people can buy affordable Vision Pro glasses than Vision Pro now.
