TikTok Shop has now announced the introduction of a new feature, which is the return of items purchased because they are "no longer needed". With this move, it allows a buyer to return the product and receive a refund because they changed their mind from purchasing the product. This new feature will be activated with effect from July 7, 2024.
A customer can return this "no longer needed" product within 15 days after the product is delivered if the seller is a TikTok Shop Mall, and 6 days for a non-TikTok Shop Mall seller.
To return it, the buyer must first apply for a refund by selecting the "no longer needed" option. The seller or shopkeeper will be given one day to confirm it, or the TikTok Shop system will automatically confirm it if after the one day period. The buyer then needs to return the product to the seller, and will receive a refund.
TikTok Shop also stated that it will protect sellers, and will prevent users or customers who abuse this new feature. TikTok also limits the categories of items that can be returned, and it excludes beauty products, underwear, baby & pregnancy categories, food & beverages, and some others.
