Xreal Beam Pro Is A Dedicated Spatial Computing Device For MR Glasses

The Xreal Beam Pro has been officially launched as a spatial computing device specifically designed to be used with their mixed reality (MR) glasses. Despite looking like a smartphone, the Beam Pro only supports WiFi connectivity without any cellular support.

It is equipped with a 6.45" LCD 60Hz screen, powered by a Snapdragon chip, memory up to 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and a 4300 mAh battery that supports 27W charging. Xreal did not disclose what Snapdragon chip it uses. Rounding out the specs is a 50MP dual-camera on the back that can do 3D video recording. On the front, a 12MP camera is used for selfies.

The device passes the IP54 standard and also comes with two USB-C ports to allow it to be charged and at the same time still connected to MR glasses such as Air 2 and Air 2 Pro. The operating system used is NebulaOS which is based on Android 14. Applications are downloaded through the built-in Google Play Store.

When paired with MR glasses, Beam Pro will be the "brain" that allows streaming video content and content to float in the virtual world. It's like a Vision Pro without the built-in MR glasses.

The sale price starts from $199 (~RM937) for the base model of the spatial computing device only and increases to $649 (~RM4055) when purchased together with the Air 2 Pro glasses.
