YouTube Premium Subscription Canceled If Using VPN For Cheaper Price

YouTube is very strict with their users now. The most surprising thing is that the use of ad blocker software or plugins will make it difficult for users to watch videos if they do not subscribe to YouTube Premium. Most recently, YouTube Premium subscriptions are now canceled if YouTube detects users subscribing cheaply using a VPN connection.

The method of using a VPN and changing the location of each country is not a new thing. I've used this method myself for Netflix, I've seen people use it to buy PlayStation games and more. By using a VPN, for example changing from Malaysia to Turkey, the subscription price can be obtained cheaper than the country of origin. In Malaysia YouTube Premium can be subscribed at a price starting at RM17.90 while in Turkey it is RM8.40 per month.

The affected users received an email from Google stating that their subscription has been canceled and to enjoy all the benefits they need to subscribe again. Although Google has not released an official statement yet, many users on Reddit who received the same fate all used a VPN to subscribe at a cheaper price. The solution now is to wait for your subscription to be canceled and re-subscribe according to the plan in Malaysia.
