For AMD GPU users, the AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate additional frames in video games to provide a gaming experience that looks and feels smoother. The frame rate can be increased up to two times through the AFMF feature. In other words this is AMD's answer to the NVIDIA DLSS 3 system.
This AFMF feature has been updated with AFMF 2 and can be used on AMD Radeon RX 6000 and 7000 series graphics cards as well as some AMD Ryzen CPUs equipped with Radeon Graphics. Thousands of video games are supported by AFMF 2 including those using Vulkan and OpenGL.
AFMF 2 has been optimized for use on computers with discrete graphics cards as well as built-in graphics cards. There is a setting to set the maximum frame rate that AFMF 2 can generate to ensure compatibility with the monitor refresh rate being used.
The latest driver software that activates the AFMF 2 feature can now be downloaded for users who want to try it out via the link below.
