ANGKASA-X, ADASpace And Cangyu Space Technology Sign Space Technology Collaboration Agreement



ANGKASA-X, a local satellite internet technology development company has today signed a collaboration agreement with two space technology companies from China, namely ADA Space and Cangyu Space Technology.


ADA Space is a satellite internet technology developer company that consists of various technology sectors, including government, higher education, military and research centers around China, while Cangyu Space Technology is known for the development of connection technology and data transmission from outer space.



ANGKASA-X has their own roadmap to develop a satellite internet network that can be used not only by rural residents in Malaysia, but around Southeast Asia as well.


Last year, ANGKASA-X launched the A-SEANSAT-PG1 satellite as part of the A-SEANLINK Low Earth Orbit satellite network. Recently, ANGKASA-X has also announced that they have successfully obtained 500 LEO positions around the Equator orbital area through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in February 2024 which will be used to launch a network of satellite internet connections throughout the Southeast Asian region.



Meanwhile, three-way cooperation between ANGKASA-X. ADA Space and Cangyu Space Technology will involve the development of infrastructure that includes the development of research centers and the development of satellite technology, together with assembly, integration and testing (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) in Malaysia.


ANGKASA-X has its own roadmap, and is currently in the development phase and launching 500 LEO satellites, where they will then start launching their Satellite-as-a-Service service. For this, ANGKASA-X is seen to be developing a data center and an AI research center based in Kuching, Sarawak. An earth base will also be developed at the Penang Technology Park soon.


According to the CEO of ANGKASA-X, Dato' Dr. Sean Seah, a small number of satellites developed together with ADA Space and Cangyu Space Technology will be launched within one to two years.
