Arm launched a new Accuracy Super Resolution (ASR) feature that will improve the quality of graphics on mobile devices. Through ASR, quality graphics and higher FPS rates can be enjoyed without increasing battery power consumption.
This technology is based on AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR 2). According to ARM, in tests performed, an increase in FPS of up to 53% can be enjoyed when ASR is used on the Immortalis-G720 GPU. On the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip, power consumption can be reduced when 540p graphics are upgraded to 1080p using ASR compared to native 1080p graphics without ASR.
With the introduction of ASR, better quality and higher FPS can be enjoyed not only on smartphones but also on tablets and laptops that use ARM-based chips. Developers can now try using ASR on their builds.
