Pre-orders for the ASUS ROG Ally X PC console are already open, and it is expected to arrive around August 2024. Along with this, ASUS seems to be introducing an update to the ROG Armory Crate Special Edition software for both of their consoles.
This update, called Armory Crate Special Edition (ACSE) 1.5, is seen to come with changes to the software interface, for example, an interface that is easier to access and scroll through using the analog joystick, a bright mode, and a My Favorites tab that lists games the most played.
The Game Profile feature will also show an update where each installed computer game will come with their own settings profile, and will no longer be limited to the mod profiles offered by ROG Ally before.
With ACSE 1.5 as well, all device updates, including BIOS updates will be done directly through the application to facilitate device updates. Not only that, joystick calibration can also now be done directly on the Armory Crate SE.
ASUS says that the latest ACSE 1.5 update is already available for download on the original ASUS ROG Ally console, and will be introduced on the Ally X when it launches.
