CelcomDigi today officially sent a proposal or proposal to SKMM, expressing its desire to develop a second 5G network in Malaysia.
CelcomDigi stated that they have the ability and expertise in the development of an advanced 5G network, at the same time further accelerating the access and use of the network by consumers and enterprises. In addition, CelcomDigi also has a strong infrastructure support, in addition to the ecosystem and also a good financial position to make investments.
CelcomDigi also stated that by the end of 2024, two-thirds of their network will be modernized - where the 18,000 sites that are ready for 5G networks will also enable the development of 5G-Advanced faster than others.
Previously, the government has announced a tender process for the development of the second 5G network, and the relevant telecommunication companies will be selected before the end of 2024.
