Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil will meet with all social media platform providers in Malaysia this month, to discuss measures to overcome and manage the growing problem of cyber bullying in the digital arena.
This step is seen as important, because the Ministry of Communications is not satisfied with the commitment shown by the various platforms of these providers in managing complaints related to this problem. This problem involves various platforms, including TikTok which does not care about this problem.
Besides that, at the same time, the Minister of Communications will also present about this problem in the cabinet meeting that will be held next Friday, in search of the best solution, including from the legal and enforcement aspects.
This partnership comes in the wake of a 29-year-old female influencer who allegedly committed suicide after being a victim of cyber bullying.
