Digital Minister, Gobind Singh Deo now says the government will establish an artificial intelligence (AI) institution in Malaysia soon. This institution will operate as a hub that connects experts in the field, as well as keeping the country on the right ethical footing for the AI industry. This institution is also expected to draft ethical guidelines for the development of AI technology.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence legislation and governance in creating a good ecosystem, in an effort to bring Malaysia to be one of the main players in this arena.
It was also emphasized that in parallel with pursuing the arena of artificial intelligence and making Malaysia a hub for it, the legal aspect cannot be ignored in ensuring its smooth development.
