Foldable iPhone Expected to Go on Sale Beginning in 2026

Rumors of an iPhone with a foldable screen began to be heard over the past two years alongside its introduction by Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. Now according to a report by The Information, an iPhone with a valve phone design like the Galaxy Z Flip will be available as early as 2026. Apple is said to have contacted several component manufacturers in Asia to offer the necessary hardware to make it a reality in that year.

The rumored device with the internal code name V68 is still in the testing phase. The long time taken to offer it to users is because Apple has not yet been able to solve the issue of folding lines on the screen. The selection of the valve phone design may be done because it is the most popular folding screen design on the market compared to the Fold type. Even though Samsung's Fold and Flip devices have entered the sixth generation, they still haven't managed to solve the folding effect on the screen.

Samsung for example sold more Galaxy Z Flip than Galaxy Z Fold by ratio. Previously there were rumors that Apple was testing a Fold-type device with a prototype produced in Taiwan using a screen produced by Samsung. Then there was also a report that Apple's Fold-type device would be an iPad instead of an iPhone. At the same time a MacBook with a folding screen was also developed by the team formerly involved with the Vision Pro project.
