Google DeepMind Can Now Solve Complex Mathematical Problems

Technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) is seen to have experienced rapid development in the last few years, with increasingly sophisticated capabilities. AI work process is also faster than humans. Despite having many skills, AI is usually not yet capable enough to deal with complex mathematical problems. Google has announced that two of their DeepMind AI models are now able to solve some complex math problems.

The two latest AI models launched are AlphaProof, which is specific to mathematical reasoning questions, and AlphaGeometry 2 which focuses on geometric math questions. The two worked together and successfully solved four out of six complex math problems in this year's International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) competition to the same level as the silver medalist.

As additional information, the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the largest and oldest and most prestigious competition for young mathematicians and has been held every year since 1959.

Even more impressive is when AlphaProof's ability not only provides accurate answers but also proves that the answers are correct through formal mathematical calculations. This achievement does not stop there, according to Google DeepMind they will continue to explore various other AI approaches that can improve and further enhance the capabilities of AlphaProof.

The achievement of the AI model by DeepMind also marks the progress of AI in dealing with complex mathematical problems that previously could only be solved by humans. However, it is important for us to realize that the capabilities of AI certainly have limitations and are still not able to fully replace human abilities and creativity.
