Google today is seen to have started offering the Google Gemini application to local users. For information, previously local users could already access the application - but had to be activated through Google Assistant. However, starting today, users can download directly from the Play Store for this Google Gemini.
Interestingly, through the latest update as well, it is seen to have started to understand Malaysian input. From our own tests, it has started to give feedback when asked questions in Bahasa Malaysia. In terms of Gemini's reply itself, sometimes it gives a response in Malaysian, and sometimes in Indonesian.
According to Gemini's own official document, it has not yet listed Bahasa Malaysia as supported. Perhaps language training for the model is not yet widespread, prompting Google to label it as officially unsupported. However, for local users, you can start asking questions in Malaysian, and receive responses through Google Gemini.
For those of you who are interested, you can download the Google Gemini application on the Google Play Store today, or also try the web version.
