The HarmonyOS operating system developed by Huawei is well known as an operating system based on the Android Open Source Project because of the technology restrictions imposed on Chinese technology companies which means that Huawei is no longer allowed to use the original Android operating system on their smart devices.
A few years after the introduction of the operating system, Huawei seems to have started to take steps to introduce their own operating system for the computer industry. It's called HarmonyOS Next, and according to X/Twitter user @jasonwill01 who showed some marketing images showing the HarmonyOS Next interface on a PC display.
HarmonyOS Next was initially developed as a platform for application developers to test their software on a computer before deploying it on HarmonyOS devices. Recently, HarmonyOS Next is seen to be developed for PC class products, which is expected to power Huawei computers soon.
What is interesting about this operating system is that unlike HarmonyOS, it does not use the AOSP system and .apk applications cannot be installed. So far, not many details are known about HarmonyOS Next, except that it closely resembles the HarmonyOS interface for smartphones and tablets.
It is also expected that Huawei will show more details about it around the end of this year, maybe when they will also introduce their new devices.
