The price offer is also felt to be quite reasonable along with the performance and specifications which are no less great. SCREEN

I start this review article by sharing about the screen of the 6.7" AMOLED device with FHD+ resolution along with a 90Hz refresh rate that can be set according to some options either Dynamic, Standard or High with it can be lowered to 60Hz. The built-in screen also shows a very responsive response to every touch and is able to provide a good video content viewing experience.

The bezel on the screen is not too thick and not too thin and looks even. The screen display area looks comprehensive with a peak brightness level of 1200 nits which can still display content brightly even when used in areas exposed to scorching sunlight. There is an oval-shaped black circle at the top of the screen that houses the front camera and also the selfie light.

BIOMETRIC

The fingerprint scanning system is also built into the side of the device which also doubles as the power button with it being able to detect fingerprints well and quickly without any issues as long as the fingers are not dirty and wet. The built-in facial scanning system also works well in many situations.

DESIGN

Honor 200 Lite comes with a design that seems to be inspired by the twinkling stars in a soft blue background that looks beautiful. However, we personally feel that this type of design may be more popular with female users than male users. This is because the design of the back panel is seen to emphasize the feminine element more. Therefore, Honor offers this device in the market with two color options namely Starry Blue and Midnight Black.

For a more elegant design, the Midnight Black color can be used as an option. What we like about the back body pattern of this device in Starry Blue color is that we don't have to deal with the problem of the body easily getting dirty with fingerprints. Although the rear body panel is plastic, the illusion of a built-in pattern makes fingerprints completely invisible. The device is also very light and thin with a weight of 166g and a thickness of 6.78mm.

The body is comfortable to hold and easy to operate with one hand. There is also a camera lens bump that houses the triple camera system on the back. The side part houses the volume control button and the power button also houses the fingerprint scanning system. The dual SIM nano tray is located on the left side.

On the top there is only a small hole for the noise canceling function while the bottom houses the USB-C charging hole and the speaker. The overall design of the device shows quite significant differences with the Honor 200 and 200 Pro models but it comes with its own special design.

USE AND SOFTWARE

This Honor 200 Lite runs the MagicOS 8.0 operating system based on Android 14. The interface display is neat with several additional functions such as Multi Window, Multi Window Dock, Split Screen and Floating Window.

The built-in MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor chip also provides good performance capabilities even though it is a relatively old processor chip. The Honor 200 Lite is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. All apps run fine and can be downloaded smoothly without issue.

There are also some AI features available on it and we feel some of them are quite useful. Among them are, AI Magic Portal and AI Blur Private Info. There is also a Magic Capsule with functions similar to the Dynamic Island available on the iPhone. All these features work well and improve the user experience.

BENCH MARK

Here are the scores from the benchmark test results recorded by the Honor 200 Lite using Geekbench 6, Antutu 3D and 3D Mark. The comparison is made with Oppo Reno11 F 5G (Dimensity 7050) and Redmi Note13 5G (Dimensity 6080).

Antutu 3D Benchmark

Honor 200 Lite – 412,679

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 606,353

Redmi Note 13 5G – 414,290

Geekbench 6

Honor 200 Lite – 782/2075

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 884/2164

Redmi Note 13 5G – 776/2019

WildLife Extreme

Honor 200 Lite – 366

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 2176

Redmi Note 13 5G – Not Supported

The results of the score and also the comparison shown show a relatively balanced record. However, throughout the test period there were no disappointing issues in terms of the smoothness of the display and the application could be run well. Overall in terms of performance, the Honor 200 Lite has good performance capabilities for a mid-range device.

TELEPHONY & GPS

This device supports 5G and WiFi 6 networks where it provides a simple GPS usage experience. Not too fast and not too slow throughout the duration of use. 5G network connection is stable in many conditions.

CAMERA

The camera setup comes with 108MP for the main camera, 5MP ultra wide and micro camera while 2MP for depth. Overall, the experience of using the camera is satisfactory with clear and bright picture results.

The science color of every object in the picture is also seen realistically with good sharpness. The zoom feature also does not disappoint with still sharp image results at zoom levels up to 3X. Although when the picture with 10X zoom makes the picture look a little soft, but basically the picture is still clear and acceptable.

The front camera comes with 50MP. The results of the front camera are also not disappointing. It's even more interesting when the front camera also has a flash light that makes the image still look bright even if the selfie is taken in a dark room.

BATTERY

The battery capacity is 4500mAh with satisfactory battery life. The 35W charging support provided also takes about an hour more to fully charge from 1% to 100%. For normal use such as browsing social media, the battery can last quite a long time, but playing games repeatedly makes the battery more thirsty for charging.

AUDIO

The device's audio system is equipped with stereo speakers that produce good audio sound. However, we found the sound to be a little slow so in many cases the audio settings had to be turned up quite a bit. Even so, when the audio is boosted to high settings, the sound still sounds soft and pleasant to listen to.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

1x Honor 200 Lite.

1x 35W Charger.

1x USB-A to USB-C Cable.

1x Transparent Frame.

1x SIM Pin.

1x Set of manual / safety book.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, after a week of testing it, we can say that the Honor 200 Lite is a device that has good specifications with a price that feels worth what is offered. The light, beautiful and unique body design and performance capabilities also do not disappoint.

The Honor 200 Lite is now sold at a price of RM1299 making it a contender in the mid-range devices in the market today with a fairly reasonable price. We feel this device is a smartphone that is quite suitable for those who are looking for a smartphone that is worth it with performance that does not disappoint.
