Tri-fold screen technology has been shown for the past few years, but the device was only in prototype form and no real device was introduced. Samsung has shown this technology in 2021 with rumors that it should be launched in 2023. TCL has shown more or less the same concept in 2020. Huawei however is rumored to be launching it soon.
For now it is still uncertain if the tri-fold screen phone is a practical device. It's just a tablet with a big screen that can be folded three times to look like a regular phone. It looks cool, will be powered by the Kirin 9 chip and uses various new technologies for hinges. The screen size is said to reach 10-inches and Huawei may launch it under the Mate series around next September.
