Intel is expected to introduce their desktop class processor chip series, Arrow Lake around September to October, but before that, they seem to have started introducing the Raptor Lake Refresh processor chip which comes with a very significant change.
According to some reports, Intel has introduced the Raptor Lake Refresh series of processing chips that come with only the "Performance" processing core, with the "Efficiency" core deactivated. This series of processing chips is seen with the model name Intel Core 14001, and consists of nine CPU models.
These processing chips consist of three Intel Core i9 CPU models, two Intel Core i7 models and four Intel Core i5 models. It has also been reported that Intel appears to be using existing Raptor Lake Refresh processing chips that may have come with faulty E cores, deactivating them and using only P cores.
Despite this, Intel also confirmed that this processing chip will not be sold as an existing product like their other desktop class processing chips. This offering will only be sold to OEM companies who will solder it directly to the motherboard and will be sold as a factory installed computer system.
This is seen as one of the best ways for Intel to reduce the stock holding of their old CPU series to make room for the upcoming Arrow Lake series of processing chips.
