Launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 Processing Chip Series Delayed Due to Stock Not Passing Test Standards

AMD was supposed to launch their latest series of desktop processing chips, the AMD Ryzen 9000 series next week (July 31, 2024), but they just released an announcement saying that the launch will be periodically delayed by a week.

They say that this delay is necessary because they have discovered that some of the stocks marketed for sale do not pass the proper performance testing standards, and these stocks have been recalled and will be replaced with new stocks that have passed the testing phase.

AMD further says that the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X and AMD Ryzen 5 9600X processor chip models will be sold starting August 8, 2024 while the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and AMD Ryzen 9 9900X will be sold starting August 15, 2024.

For the recalled chips, AMD also seems to have confirmed that these chips only need to go through the testing process and if they pass, they will be repackaged and sold as normal.
