Manulife Asia Care Survey Report Finds Malaysians Are Concerned About Long-Term Health



Manulife, one of the leading health and life insurance companies in Malaysia, has recently presented a new survey called the Manulife Asia Care Survey which gives an overview of the behavior, sentiments and preferences given by the people of Asia Pacific towards insurance subscriptions in the country. -countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam.


This year's Asia Care Survey report provides insight into several aspects of life that are emphasized now and for the next 10 years, including health, finances and how they are coping with the challenges of the rising cost of living.


For the Malaysian market, a total of 1038 people participated in this survey, and on average many of them are aware of the importance of health and also have a strong financial foundation. In fact, according to the MyFuture Readiness Index, it is seen that the desired level of readiness for physical, mental and financial health is not far from the existing level of readiness.



The three challenges faced by Malaysians related to this level of readiness include the increasing cost of living, the declining economic situation and the increasing cost of healthcare. For this region, the Asia Care Survey found that people are most worried about three types of diseases, namely heart disease (55%), diabetes (48%), cancer (48%) and stroke (41%).


For long-term benefits, the pollsters said their long-term financial plan is to ensure that they are debt-free (39%), have money saved for hard times (38%), financial freedom (34%) and passive income when they retire later (32%) and have enough money to pay for health care in old age.


When asked what aspect of life they would pay most attention to in the next 10 years, 36 percent of respondents said that physical health was the most important aspect, followed by financial aspects (34%) and mental health (30%).


According to Vibha Coburn, CEO of Manulife Malaysia, this survey report will enable Manulife to introduce new insurance packages and policies that better match the needs and capabilities of their customers.
