At the end of last week, one of the things that shocked the IT arena around the world was when an update to the Crowdstrike security software caused Windows computers to suffer - affecting the operations of hundreds of giant companies around the world.
Sharing about it, Microsoft estimates that around 8.5 million Windows devices are affected by this problematic Crowdstrike update – which is less than 1% of Windows computers worldwide. However, despite the small number, Microsoft said the economic impact brought about by it was very large.
This is because various large enterprises use Crowdstrike as protection against cyber attacks.
Microsoft also emphasized that although Crowdstrike is not their solution, Microsoft has worked with them in developing a solution to overcome the problem, in addition to using hundreds of Microsoft engineers and experts to help restore services disrupted by Crowdstrike.
